This is a question that is asked often and by many; should I use supplements? After all, we should be getting all the nutrition we need from our diets, right? The short answer is yes, of course. However, if you are living in an area of the planet that is the victim of chemical fertilizers and such, the likelihood of getting the nutrients you need for good health from the food is about zero. This is particularly true if your food choices are not organic or you destroy what may be there by using a microwave oven.
Do you know when the first multi-vitamin came out? 1940! The One-A-Day vitamin was the result of a study into the nutritive value of our soils. They found the soils grossly inadequate then. Do you think it has improved with the wide spread and increased use of all the chemicals that our farms are flooded with? I expect not.
How many Oranges would you have to consume to get the amount of Vitamin C in a quality 1000 mg. Vitamin C tablet? That would be 15-20 average sized Oranges. It would seem logical to say that even if you ate food from healthy soils, it would be impossible to take care of a vitamin deficiency through food alone. It just would not be practical.
While you should be able to maintain good health with proper food choices, if you could find proper food, taking care of a deficiency surely requires supplementation.
